The Komodo team finally released the Android port of Komodo 10.2 on GOOGLE PLAY. I'm surprised to see how delayed the porting has been this time following the Windows release.
No matter what, Android users must be happy to receive the most recent version, though there seems to be little to add in terms of ELO strength over Komodo 10.

Anyone have a "Which is best" Engine between..
Stockfish 8 SSE AP
Komodo 10.2
Brainfish 8 AP
CFish 8 AP
So far my games between Brainfish 8 AP vs Stockfish 8 SSE AP - seems like brainfish is drawing some and winning some as stockfish hasn't actually won one yet. if you guys get different results or a compiled list of these engines, let me know :)
Cfish 8 should be the strongest for analysis since it's basically stockfish 8 compiled in c code, thus making it faster. For engine vs engine matches, brainfish 8 and cfish 8 + a strong ctg book are virtually identical in strenght at long time controls. Note Stockfish sse is almost the same as brainfish, just with some extra commits on the stockfish port
Hi Gurcan, which engine has a "human like" style? I remember you was talking about Cyclone or ExChess or something like it..
Gurcan, i cant download engines from app.box...Every time when i press download, a short message appears "Waiting for app.box.com" and nothing happens..
Alex, what is for you the human style among these 3000+ elo crushers? To me, none of them play like human.
Weird... It makes two years i'm using box without problems. Can you please give me an example and i will check from other computers.
For me, Cheng 4.39 is playing like human style, and its good :)
Really gurcan? Komodo plays a lot like a human to me, just a bit too perfect :)
Specially komodo 8 plays very human like
How can i give you example?
Right now, i tried to download Stockfish Matefinder 8 AP from your blog, i click "GET", after that it sends me here https://app.box.com/s/18bucwmf1mq14qbohk4b15m430yhrw3x
It doesn't matter if i'll click on "Download" in the middle on my screen, or in the right "up corner". Zip file with the engine is not appear on my screen..End of story :) Same problem was reported by Sindbad, in Brainfish post.
Regarding "human like play" engines, i'll agree with Mauricio, K8 doesn't attack you right away, it cares about his king, you know "safety first"
Other engines will try to break the structure right away, even for a pawn, they will chase you from the beginning, K8 doesn't do that :)
I also remember, there was XB engine with the "familiar" style of playing, but i don't remember the name of the engine..
Alex, do you think it's better to prepare for a human tournament using Komodo 10.2 or Komodo 8? Is there any difference regarding playing style?
Mauricio, it's a interesting question! I think (IMO), Houdini 3 or 4 (on my PC Houdini 3 performs better than 4) with "tactical mode", is the best tactical partner and K8 is very good strategic teacher, both engines is good for human practice.
Regarding playing style, of course there is a big difference between K8 and K10.2.. After every update Komodo becoming better and better (closer to Stockfish),that's mean that,it losing its "human like" style and will play more like computer :)
Thanks for replying. I asked because I use my smartphone to prepare for tournaments, so I thought that even though komodo 10.2 has more elo, it wouldn't make a dramatic change on android, but maybe you can tell me if this situation of komodo 10.2 losing its "humanity" also applies to android :)
(IMO) - If anything loses to stockfish....It's Human (wakka wakka)
Stockfish is only useful to pinpoint tactical mistakes, Komodo's style is much more fit to prepare for human tournaments. What's the point of having an engine some elo points stronger if you can't understand the moves it suggests in analysis?
Komodo 10.2 would be roughly 100 elo less on a smartphone. I think it doesn't impact 'the style'. Komodo is always less tactical and more positional like Karpov vs Kasparov.
Ok, I will i use komodo 10.2 like you suggested then Gurcan, thanks!
I don't know about you guys,i prefer K8 and (ST8 Matefinder as tactical engine in android),its moves is more "understandable" for me (and some other people). Anyway, every human has his own choice, just try to find what is working for you, that's all :)
Btw, Gurcan i still can't download engines from app.box. Can the "Adblock" program cause that issue?
Update for Chiron 3
Alex, did the trick i've posted yesterday help you?
Gurcan i didn't try the trick, now i prefer to download engines from my smartphone, it's much more easy :)
dmhoang-You should try Chiron 3, it also contain limit-strength setting and it is better than Greco. Totally Different type of play! :)
Gucan, i forgot to mention, i don't use/have Chrome Browser.
Hi Gurcan,I have komodo10.2 but it is not importing in Cfa. What i do suggest me something
Did you install it from Google Play? If yes, try uninstalling, rebooting and reinstalling from Google Play. Please note that Komodo uses licence verification. Do not forget to open Komodo just after installing and make sure it says Thank you for blah blah... Do not go directly to CFA without opening Komodo first and finishing licence check.
Hi,Gurcan i have already purchased komodo and run for checking licence and after that i try to import at CfA but it showing that....engine failed to start:error running exec().comm...
Rahul, have you tried to run the engine under other GUI? For example, DroidFish?
I tried in droidfish, but i run komodo under hawk GUI and its running good.
Rahul, this is strange,if engine working under Hawk and Droidfish,it should also work in C4a..
Anyway, try this, open C4a->long press on the screen->choose "UCI and XBoard"->Clear Options->choose Komodo 10.2(mark it=[v]), press the backward arrow on your device, install the engine from the beginning,
i hope it work :)
What's up with Komodo 10.2 reaching really high nps? On my huawei p8 lite using 256mb of hash and syzygy tablebases, ponder off in cfa tournament against brainfish it reaches as high as 4000+kn/s on 180s per move, then goes down to aroun 1000-1300kn/s, then back to 2000-3000kn/s. Do you have the same results, Gurcan?
