ArmFish is a project based on the assembly code to achieve the highest speed with Stockfish engine. A lot of updates have rained during February, so frequently that i thought it would be easier to share them all together, in a single post.

Alexei there must be a serious bug in the arm64 version, during analysis of a game the nps jumped from 2500 to 4700 moving a piece, the selected moves were wrong and evaluation from +.29 went to -45 for a move completely wrong that should be over +1

There is no error.In the engine settings in droidfish, disable the [Analysis Contempt] option.
I tested Cfish-100318-arm64v8 against Cfish-9 and it plays harder.And the fact that the rating of the engine jumps,it works dynamic contempt.It changes the score depending on the opponent's answer.There is no bug in the engine,this is how the new Cfish or Stockfish works.Check Cfish-100318 against any engine and you will see that it is much stronger than any.

2 test positions. Cfish 15.02.18 solves them faster than 10.03.18.
Also according to android app nps is a bit lower on a this newer vesrion.
2 positions??This is not enough.We need hundreds of positions (if not thousands) to draw some conclusions.A slower speed is generally not what you said.These are different versions of Cfish (added new patches,they can reduce the speed it add bonuses to the positional game).
You can't compare the speed of different versions of engines.

Cfish is not a clone and not a derivative.This is a pure port of Stockfish in the language c11.

In stockfish-9 there was contempt=20 but it was static.In new versions of stockfish to cfish set dynamic contempt, the engine, depending on the assessment,automatically adjusts the level of contempt.So don't be fooled by that contempt the default is changed.

Changes in Arasan 20.5:
1) Have tuner output objective value to params file.
2) Bug fix in more() function of RootMoveGenerator.
3) Fixes to Syzygy code: enable locking when multi-threaded.
4) Fix very shallow search when MultiPV greater than the number of legal moves.
5) Fix UCI score output when tb hit at root - now outputs score based on tb score
(worked with multipv but not when multipv == 1).
6) Do not exit search for forced mate if UCI and search type is fixed depth or fixed time.
7) Don't execute move after UCI "bestmove" Wait for GUI to send position.
8) Remove Nalimov and Gaviota tb support.
9) Fix mate score output in GUI.
10) Add code to save/restore window flags and state in GUI.
I expect this version to perform pretty much on a par with Arasan 20.4: all the changes are basically bug fixes, not performance improvements. But some of the fixes are significant: in particular, the tablebase code fixes may prevent occasional crashes when running multithreaded with tablebases in use.

Arasan 20.5 arm7 lost engine but arm8 is great.

I have seen, Many engines lost their strengths in arm7.
As from two years on rapidroid Komodo remains 2nd place.
Almost one rapidroid will be on 64- bit device with 64- bit chess engine, when Komodo will be updated.

I have no problem With Arasan-20.5 engine not in CFA,not in Droidfish.I tested it in CFA and everything is fine.There are no bugs.
In my device Arasan arm7 lost engine in CFA and other side arm 8 work great.

Incidentally, in the analysis mode, the engine is not working properly.It works well only when playing.That's how the author of the engine explained it.

@ karim - Here is results from your test, as Alexey told already, you simply identified the winner of the tournament (with all respect karim, i can't even call this as tournament, i mean 20 games for 5 engines??).. Error bars are 400 + times bigger than elo difference, it means that you need at least 200 games for each engine, not for the whole tournament! Rahul's test is more convincing 75,5 vs 24,5, it shows that Ethereal is a little stronger.
Anyway, karim why don't you use Cfa (Chess for android) app? There is a fast time control, (10sec+1sec) that you can use for more number of games, and more accurate results. Cfa also support pgn opening books, i made some pgn books with a specific number of games, all books contain 8 moves = 16 ply, eg if you want to make test Round Robin between 2 engines and 100 games, then choose 8moves_v3_50positions.pgn (50x2=100 games).

First you must have "Cfa" and give the app permission for storage by going setting's installed app.
Now,open the CFA and tap on the black screen, a pop-up menu will appear then choose uci and xboard and tap that an another menu will be open then choose "install engine SD card"and after that choose folder in which you have chess engine and select engine and install.
And, for tournament you will have to tap again UCI & XBOARD
Option you will get tournament option.

But I know all these processes but after taping tournament option it shows me all the installed engines in a menu and when I chose 2 engines then nothing happens, actually I get no option to begin tounment after that. This is the main problem I am facing for quite a long time and I can not figure out how to begin the tournament after this last engines selection process. Very much annoying for me.

Hi Rahul! Thanks for the pgn file, you did over 6700+ games, that's nice!
But, i have bad news for you. First, i separated from your pgn file tournament between Komodo and Stockfish, and i didn't look at all about engine lag or flag etc.
Later, taking a closer look at the games, i noticed something very strange, both engines had resignations for unknown reason, there was also time flag (photo->) https://postimg.cc/image/k92660yjp/ Honestly, i haven't seen this type of issues before and i don't know what to say, almost half of your games ended with this way.
Try to change your adjudications rules, give some extra "GUI time lag", and check the device's temperature (it is also important). Last thing, for 10sec+1sec time control set hash 16 or 32, and reset Komodos setting to default.
Later i'll remove all the "corrupted" games, and i'll post your results.

I have a feeling that the engines don't have time to response, and they lose in time. What can i say, this is maybe GUIs or engines fault, or bad responding from your device. Btw you use arm8 engines, correct? I use arm7, my arm8 device is not available right now (maybe from next week). So, with arm8 engines only Aleksey can help you (or somebody else with 64 bit arm8 device)!

It's nice to be back here,thank you very much Sir Alexei for many engine updates including new engines(Xiphos and Delocto).Although Xiphos 2.2 is very buggy as DroidFish always says"engine error".

Rahul, the bugs in your pgn games are because of Komodo engine. You are using the engine Komodo apk version, right?

Remove the apk engines from CFA GUI, I hope the error may be solved..if not then ask Alex, he is more expert in such cases..
I had the same problem with Komodo 11.2.2, it has a tablebases bug, if you're using Syzygy tablebases - disable them

Rahul, 2 last tips for you..
1) Unmark animate option -> https://postimg.cc/image/3vxce9r39/, It is marked by default, and this option slows the sending of engine responses to the shell (GUI).
Make small test, about 20-30 games, after that look those games in Droidfish, or in other app, go to the end of the game and look how it's ended. You can also open pgn file with notepad or Code Viever app, you'll see this-> https://postimg.cc/image/irvvlx7np/
2) If the problem remained, then send email with pgn games to Aart Bik.
