Android UCI engine update: Cheese 1.9.2

Another bugfix update by the author, Patrice Duhamel. No ELO change expected.

WHAT'S NEW (17-Feb-2018):
Version 1.9.2
- fix engine not responding in pondering mode since version 1.9
- fix illegal moves in pondering when the search ends before receiving message from the interface
- fix an error with Arena/UCI when pondering is enable, always return a move to ponder (if possible)
- fix a problem when starting next tournament game in Fritz GUI

    and if you want SF and Cfish use javialo compilation from play store.



    There is Ethereal, latest compilation by Andrew.

    Test it against others engines or play himself. It become much stronger now.

    As, we know that sir Alexie compilation always have better, faster and stronger but, unfortunately, we doesn't have his compilation and it's very sad.

    You are all welcome, and its my pleasure.
    For today's breakfast I wanted to bring an arena chess opening book to binary format, therefore I chose it from Chessowl blog,http://chessowl.blogspot.com/p/chess-engine-opening-books.html
    Book title, HS-20moves 2.0, the author claims of 1,007,272 positions, but as I convert it to pgn, the amount differs a lot, means it is 48505 positions, so I made no chances in pgn and directly convert it to binary, here the link- https://www.mediafire.com/file/6acwl17ulztuhy7/HS-20moves.bin.7z/file , what make me more surprised is, the positions pgn aren't all 20 moves, there you can find 15moves in it, get pgn here -https://www.mediafire.com/file/qm2k85cun52ud5a/HS-20moves-p48505-pgn.7z/file ,
    Still the bin book all reaches to 20 moves,I checked it myself, it's amazing

    I have tested Ethereal10.39 and it is better than Ethereal10.43, Ethereal 10.39 compiled better than 10.43.

    I think both are equal or may be ethereal strong. But not yet confirmed in just only 100 games.

    Please help Ethereal,
    because by some unknown reason Ethereal is banned from "tcec season 13".

    So, please make a request to tcec member for give the permission to play Ethereal in tcec13.
    If Ethereal won't play then tcec become bored and will be same consequences as previous s12. Nothing new will be in world of chess without Ethereal.

      Actually, At this morning,On tcec chat room Andrew and the one member of tcec began to argue meaninglessly, and the member became angry and banned Andrew and his engine.

      As you know that Ethereal is fast growing engine. Ethereal gain much elo in two years.

      While others engines are stopped.

      I am a big fan of Ethereal and Xiphos.

      Ah yeah i hope ethereal participates in tcec 13 .Latest ethereal 10.55 is incredible.It should be about the same strength or a little stronger than Andscacs 0.921(that Alexei ported for Android) in CCRL 40/4.So about 3200 + elo.Very impressive!!

    Ethereal is +67 elo over andscasc.
    I have made only 300 games and its much accurate. If anyone want to made more game,yet elo gain not be change.
    An impressive progress done by Sir Andrew.
    If we will get sir Alexie compilation than Ethereal will be more stronger.

    Hi all,

    You must have to try Ethereal 10.53.
    Here is the games pgn and also Ethereal 10.53 which is better than 10.55 because of it's better compilation and it is 40% faster than 10.55 which makes it stronger.

    For tournament
    Threads-1 hash-16 and tc- 10s+0.1

    Enjoy the new and stronger engine.
    Now, rapidroid will be changed completely because of xiphos,defenchess and specially due to Ethereal.

      I'm assuming you already have tablebases on your phone, if not download them from https://chess.cygnitec.com/tablebases/syzygy/wdl/5/ for example and unpack on your phone. If you already installed Ethereal, than clear it's options and run any new tourney with it. In the box where you chose engines options put full path of your Syzygy, on Android it will be /storage/emulated/0/"yourSyzygyFolderName" or /sdcard/"yourSyzygyFolderName"

    I put my path as here on cfa box option
    /storage/emulated/0/nemo
    On Nemo folder I have contained tablebases.

    But, it shows ' found 0 tablebases'.
    What I do now?

      Are the files in your Nemo/ folder have .rtbw and .rtbz extensions? There should be 290 files for 5-men Syzygy, around 1GB in size unpacked. I just checked newest Ethereal, tablebases work fine with it and with any other engine using Syzygy

      ...and does anyone here have a contact with Alexei Chernakoff? He was unbeatable with his compiles for Android, faster than my PC :) Android chess is almost dead without this golden guy :(

      Good we have couple of programmers who know Android platform chess is a huge % of the users, and they make builds for Android. Kudos to Andy Grant (!), Rasmus Althoff (CT 800), author of Pedone Fabio Gobbato, Xiphos, Delocto and couple of others. The rest see Android as a "slow, unpopular" platform probably :)

      You don't really need the first 3 files, they're for PC only, so it gives 290 files - seems ok. Maybe your Syzygy is under too many subfolders, I've got my files under /sdcard/DroidFish/rtb. Try to move your files to make the path look like this: /sdcard/syzygy/3-4-5/"all your rtbw and rtbz files"

    Yes, he was mainly writing in Droidfish thread, but stopped since a month ago. Here's the thread - http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=324262&st=780 . You need to register first to download anything, the last engine he posted is Cfish 060618
